This is a must read
If you’ve ever been in a conversation with me, you have probably hear me reference a book or an author. Many times, that author is Franciscan priest, Richard Rohr, OFM. Through his books and teachings, this man has done more to bring healing to my soul than any other individual in my life.
He has helped me deconstruct paradigms and destructive theology that kept fearful and pissed.
I thought his last book, The Universal Christ, might be his final book. (I think he mentioned that on a podcast. BTW, the podcast “Another Name for Everything” is a conversation with Richard and a few of the staffers from The Center for Action and Contemplation. If you are interested in spiritual discussions, this podcast is a feast for both mind and soul.)
Anyway. This book The Wisdom Pattern is blowing my mind. It was written after COVID began dismantling life as we know it and it packs a prophetic punch unlike anything I’ve heard in a looooooong time.
And by prophetic, I’m not talking about some future telling charismatic passing an offering plate.
I mean prophetic as a voice of clarity speaking truth with love and compassion. Prophetic as in offering an invitation for inner reflection in order for transformation both individually and collectively as a people.
I urge you to get it. But wait there’s more. You can listen to it for FREE by using this link to Scribd. Yes, this is a commercial because I get a free month when you sign up for TWO free months. I dropped my Audible subscription a long time ago when I found out I could get unlimited Kindle and Audio books for under $10 months. I especially like Scribd because they have so many of Richard’s books - more than I found on Audible.
There’s no obligation to continue after your two free months. Helpful hint - I always put a note on my calendar before a trial period ends so I don’t forget to cancel it if I’m not happy with it. So, download it for free, make a note on a calendar, and then give a listen to my favorite Franciscan.
I would love to hear what you think-drop me a note on whatever social media platform you find this post.
