Clutter's impact on health

As if we didn’t need another health crisis.  This one is been building for a few generations and needs to be taken seriously.

I’m talking about clutter - unneeded shit that that takes up physical space and drains your energy.

It’s true!  Here are just a few ways:

  • Physical clutter is linked to increased levels of cortisol (a stress hormone).

  • A cluttered home collects more dust, which can increase respiratory problems.

  • Tripping hazards are legion in a cluttered home. For the aged, a fractured pelvis can usher in the beginning of the end.

  • Nutritious meals in a cluttered kitchen?  Yeah.  That doesn’t work so well.

  • Clutter can destroy a marriage.  Yes, it happens.  I’ve been in more than one home where an ultimatum has been given: Clear the clutter or we’re getting a divorce. It’s heartbreaking.

Clutter is not your friend.

I’ll be writing more about other types of clutter and how they also impact your health.  If you’re wanting to unclutter your life and live more intentionally with greater joy, I hope you’ll come along for the ride!

I will be starting a newsletter - Clutter Talk - in the next few weeks….be sure to sign up for tips to help you unclutter your home, head and heart.
