When you're going through hell
On this morning’s hike, I was cheered on by this Rodney Atkin’s song. The song is based off Winston Churchill’s famous quote, “If you’re going through hell, keep going.”
We in the States right now are in special hell right now. Covid-19, the political shit show, fires burning, economic hardships and so much more. (Insert you personal on-going hardship here. I see you.)
I endeavor to keep my mind in a peaceful place but man alive, it can be a challenge. Last night I had an anxiety nightmare that called attention to the fact that I need to practice more vigilance in my mental health self-care.
If you’re not a country music fan, consider more words from Winston Churchill delivered during England’s darkest hours during WWII:
“. . . we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender.” And “…never, never, never give up.”
We must keep moving forward. We will get through this. Whatever you’re facing, this too shall come to pass.
I hope this song cheers you like it did me!
