Consistent inconsistency
Here’s one for the “things that make me go ‘hmmmmm’.” I was enjoying a nice chat with my hairdresser the other day. My inner minimalist heart had a happy ping when I observed her little Buddha statue on her station.
I love chatting with folks of the Buddhist persuasion because of their understanding of attachment/non attachment. As a Board-Certified Junk Thrower Outter (it is a board comprised of one person-me), teach people to let go of their attachments to clutter is a spiritual process to me.
She finished my haircut and after I paid, she followed me outside to take her break. Business was really slow that day, she said. And our conversation was lovely.
While she lit a cigarette, our conversation continued. This time it was about the easiness of short hair. Yep. Love me my short hair. Her hair was short too.
“I’m growing out my hair after shaving my head,” she said, blowing out a contemplative puff of smoke. She told me how much she loved have a bald pate.
“Why are you growing it out then?” I asked.
“I was getting too attached to it,” she replied, flicking the ash from her smoke.
