Garage Organizing

Garage Organizing usually isn't anyone's favorite thing to do on the weekend. But when you get things truly organized, you can reclaim your weekends.

Most Americans can’t park their car(s) in their garage. I often think of garages as the place where dreams go to die. The canoe you picked up at a garage sale - 14 years earlier. Or the boxes of dusty canning jars piled into the rafters - and you’ve never learned to canned because you never got that big garden growing. And then there’s the garden supplies. (They were SUCH a great deal at the ACE Hardware spring blow out sale!)

Friends, I wish I could give you a magic wand for organizing but there is none. The key to TRULY organizing that garage is thin out the contents. The number one rule of organizing: Never organize clutter! Donate it, pitch it, or recycle.

I know it’s challenging. But I have also seen the transformation that takes place not just with the physical space opening up but the JOY clients have when they can pull into their garage on a snowy day or find, with ease, an item they were looking for.

Then there’s the best part: the gift of peace. This is an immeasurable reward. I have yet to hear anyone say, “I really miss my cluttered garage.”
