Organizing tip Tuesday: the car

We spend a LOT of time in our cars.  As a result, it’s easy for your vehicle to become a clutter hot spot on wheels. I’ve seen some cars that were “litter-ly” stuffed full of debris.  *shudder*

When you’re a passenger, why not take advantage of the time to sift through the glove box?  (Provided you can do so without distracting the driver, that is.) If you know me at all, you know I am a fan of starting small and a glove box is just the right size.

When you’re ready to tackle the whole vehicle, I empty everything out.  Yup, the Fix-a-Flat can, the air gauge to monitor the annoying slow leak in the tire, Johnny’s football gear, the jar of salsa you forgot to return to Fry’s 3 months ago, etc., etc.…

It’s much easier to sort through items when you’re not having to perform Beijing acrobatic moves in the tight spaces.

Now because you likely have things that must stay in the car (like that “Fix-a-Flat” can) how do you keep items from rattling around?

This was a challenge I took very seriously as I keep my organizing gear in the trunk of my Prius.

Enter: The Trunk Organizer.  Ta-Dah!

I love this thing!  But I was a little bummed to see that Harbor Freight had one for less than what I paid on Amazon.  Live and learn.

It’s super handy for corralling the must-keep-in-car items. And it’s also handy for shopping trips as well so it may be worth keeping an extra one on stand-by.

Now, let’s go make the world a little more organized, one vehicle at a time.  😊
